What is Google Search Grounding?

Google Search grounding allows Aeralis to search the web in real-time when generating your emails. This ensures your emails include accurate, up-to-date information rather than relying solely on the AI's training data.

How It Works

1. Enable Google Search in your profile settings
2. When generating an email, Aeralis identifies topics that would benefit from current information
3. The AI performs relevant searches and incorporates the findings into your email
4. Sources are displayed so you can verify the information

Current Events and News

When writing emails that reference recent events:

• "Congratulate them on their recent funding announcement"
• "Reference their latest product launch"
• "Mention the industry news from this week"

Accurate Facts and Figures

When you need precise, current information:

• Company details (founding date, headquarters, employee count)

Enabling Google Search

From the Web Dashboard

1. Go to aeralis.ai/profiles
2. Edit your profile
3. In the Grounding Tools section, toggle on Google Search
4. Save your profile

From the Gmail Add-on

1. Open Gmail and click the Aeralis icon
2. Go to Manage Profiles
3. Edit your profile
4. Enable Google Search in grounding tools
5. Save changes

Best Practices

• Use for time-sensitive topics - Google Search is most valuable when information changes frequently
• Review the sources - Always check the sources provided to verify accuracy
• Combine with Context URLs - Use Context URLs for specific documentation and Google Search for broader research
• Be specific in your prompts - Mention what you want researched: "Look up their recent press releases"

Limitations

• Requires Pro or Business plan
• Cannot be used simultaneously with Knowledge (choose one or the other)
• Search results depend on publicly available information
• Very recent information (last few hours) may not be indexed yet
