Managing Team Seats
Understanding Seats
A "seat" represents a spot on your team for one member. The Team plan includes 3 seats by default, and you can purchase additional seats as your team grows.
Seat Pricing

Example: A team of 7 members on a monthly plan would pay:
- Base: $79/month
- Additional seats: 4 × $20 = $80/month
- Total: $159/month
Viewing Seat Usage
- Go to aeralis.ai/billing
- Find the Team Management section
- You'll see a usage meter showing:
- Current members (used seats)
- Total available seats
- Base seats vs. purchased seats
Adding Seats
Only the team owner can add seats.
How to Add Seats
- Go to aeralis.ai/billing
- In the Team Management section, click Add Seats
- Select the number of seats to add
- Review the cost preview (shows immediate charge and new monthly total)
- Click Confirm
Billing for New Seats
When you add seats:
- You're charged immediately for the prorated amount until your next billing date
- Future invoices will include the full seat cost
- Seats are available instantly after purchase
Removing Seats
Only the team owner can remove seats.
Before Removing Seats
You can only remove seats if you have unused capacity. For example:
- You have 5 total seats
- 4 members are using seats
- You can remove at most 1 seat
If you need to remove more seats, first remove team members.
How to Remove Seats
- Go to aeralis.ai/billing
- In the Team Management section, click Remove Seats
- Select the number of seats to remove
- Review the changes
- Click Confirm
Billing for Removed Seats
When you remove seats:
- The change takes effect at your next billing cycle
- You keep access to the seats until then
- Your next invoice will reflect the reduced seat count
Removing Members to Free Seats
If you need to reduce seats but all are in use:
- Go to aeralis.ai/billing
- Find the member you want to remove in the team list
- Click the remove button next to their name
- Confirm the removal
- Now you can remove the unused seat
Important: When you remove a member:
- They immediately lose access to shared profiles
- Their personal profiles are unaffected
- Any profiles they shared with the team are unshared

Plan Ahead
If you know you'll be adding team members, add seats in advance to avoid delays.
Annual Savings
Additional seats are ~17% cheaper on yearly plans ($200/year vs $240/year if paid monthly).
Monitor Usage
Regularly check your seat usage to ensure you're not paying for unused seats.

What happens if I try to invite someone without available seats?
You'll be prompted to add more seats before the invitation can be sent.
Can I have more seats than members?
Yes. Having extra seats gives you flexibility to add members quickly without waiting for billing.
What happens to seats if I cancel my Team plan?
If you cancel:
- Your team continues until the end of the billing period
- All members lose access when the subscription ends
- You can resubscribe later to restore your team
Can I transfer a seat to someone else?
Seats aren't tied to specific people. To "transfer" a seat:
- Remove the current member
- Invite the new member The seat is automatically reused.
